Drawing and painting are the challenges I enjoy and which give me a sense of growth, understanding, reward, and success. An oil painting class started this new journey. Although I never had a history of drawing or painting as a child, I enrolled in an oil painting workshop while I was living in Singapore. I enrolled in the class because it sounded like fun, I had nothing to lose, and love to learn new things. I was hooked from the moment that I saw I could take a brush and blend colors and values into a recognizable shape. I started taking every class I could, experimenting with various subjects, and mediums. I felt a passion I had never previously experienced.
 
Utilizing both traditional and innovative techniques, it is just magical to me to render a subject in a realistic manner on a two-dimensional surface. I am filled with a sense of accomplishment and integrity and enjoy using this creative avenue as a means of translating thoughts and ideas to an outer reality that others can share if they so choose.
 
The ever-changing nature of my themes and subjects fuels my imagination and the possibilities for my subjects are endless. Because I enjoy using several mediums, I choose the one that seems the most appropriate for the subject and mood I wish to convey through the art. I especially enjoy exploring composition, contrast, and colors. As an artist, I know I will be the life-long learner that I always thought I would be. If others find my work interesting or compelling that is an added bonus.
